Support Common Sense Rape Survivor Rights

America leads the world in protecting citizens’ rights to liberty and equality, yet our country currently lacks standardized baseline procedures for rape survivors in the process of reporting assaults, creating a legislative patchwork that deprives millions of Americans of basic liberties. The Center for Disease Control reports that a staggering 25 million Americans are rape survivors - a population nearly equal to the state of Texas. Survivors and law enforcement officers deserve common-sense legal protections and clear procedures that ensure access to justice. Americans urgently need a comprehensive Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights that combines protections so that access to justice does not depend on geography.
