The new musical
Children of Salt
By Jaime Lozano and Lauren Epsenhart
Starring
Mauricio Martinez and Florencia Cuenca
In anticipation of its New York presentation with the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) this July, producers Jorge de la Garza and German Cavazos will present a special concert version of the new musical Children of Salt, music by Jaime Lozano and book and lyrics by Lauren Epsenhart, with arrangements & orchestrations by
Jesús Altamira and Jaime Lozano, musical direction by Geraldine
Anello and musical supervision by Zach Dietz.
Based on the play Los Niños De Sal by Mexican playwright Hernán Galindo, Jaime Lozano and Lauren Epsenhart present a modern musical adaptation of the internationally acclaimed stage play. Children of Salt, set on the shores of a small coastal town in Mexico, tells the story of Raúl and his return home after an absence of twenty-years. The day brings a series of unexpected meetings, unleashing an array of memories and people, all of which he must learn from in order to accept his present and move into his future. With its classic Latin rhythms and poignant lyrics, Children of Salt is the universal story of love, loss and the human capacity to hope.
